Alleged suspect in South San Jose sexual assault on 15 year-old girl resided in city interim homeless program

San Jose social media contributor MamaMilz reports on X that the alleged suspect in a sexual assault on a 15 year-old female student walking to school was, in fact, a resident at one of the City’s much ballyhooed interim homelessness shelters (One Branham Lane). Curiously, leading city officials and the Mercury News failed to mention this salient fact in their coverage and comments on the attack. The suspect also has a previous sexual assault conviction.

The City has imported all these criminals into D2/10 from all over the city and county through your beloved EIH program. And let's not forget that you were ready to sign off on jail diversion at Bernal.

Now, you are going to try to wash your hands of responsibility. You were all in, even when we told you EIH, housing first style, was unsafe for our bedroom communities.

There are multiple sexual offenders at Branham alone. The City could have set criteria which denied the City's limited housing to criminal offenders...but no. Housing first!

So, this assault lies at the hands of San Jose City Council and the housing department. It was not too long ago, that we had to fight jail diversion. Now, it is clear that jail diversion has been happening all along at our EIH. Shame on the justice system for releasing hardened criminals and shame on you for putting them next to our schools and homes.

We want a D2/10 public meeting now. We want answers as to how you allowed this assault to happen, answers for the added crime, panhandling, dumping, and downright destruction of our neighborhoods, and new rules for EIH going forward. If you won't make that happen, then maybe it is time for the 3rd San Jose Action "TINY Homes" public meeting.--MamaMillz @stweetie1
